An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 hit Haiti on Tuesday January 12. It is estimated that about 45,000 to 50,000 people were killed. President Barack Obama sent thousands of troops and rescue workers to Haiti. There were many people still tapped inside the collapsed buildings and many dead bodies covered the streets of Haiti that day. Countries like China, France, Spain, and the US sent planes that contained water, food, medicine, and other supplies. This tragic earthquake has left many people in Haiti without shelter and food. Fortunatly the people of Haiti are getting all the help the other countries can offer.

Planes from China, France, Spain and the United States landed at Port-au-Prince’s airport, carrying searchers and tons of water, food, medicine and other supplies. The Red Cross has estimated 3 million people – a third of the population – may need emergency relief.

It’s devastating to know that millions of people died in this horrible earthquake in Haiti. The article is about the earthquake that put Haiti in much more poverty than it already was in. So many people died and all nations are trying to help this country by saving lives and finding those hidden under all the buildings that were collapsed. The US military is helping with the unloading of flights and US Cargo in Haiti. And the Haitian officials were outnumbered as many were killed in the tragedy as well, because no senior officials were seen.

I feel incompetent, I don’t know what I would do if I was in that situation. The article is about the earthquake that destroyed the capital of Haiti & how many nations have come together to help the victims. There is an estimated 45,000-50,000 people dead. They rescued the UN Security Worker & he was still alive & just like him there are probably many others still alive but trapped underneath all the fallen buildings.
