-After an 11 yr old girl becomes a victim of a tragic sex offense, the ability of Maryland lawmakers have really been undermined for their weaknesses. The level of incompetence by Maryland’s child protection laws has ignited a cry for change. Involved in this movement for improvement are determined activists against pedophiles, the victim’s family, and legislators.
-I think the fact that more precautions aren’t being taken is disappointing. It’s disgusting that such a hazardous felon can so easily be excused.
-(This is the 2nd time I put up this hw, I did it the 1st time at about 1pm….Luckily I wrote out this hw before typing it up.)

This article is about a 11 year old girl who was kidnapped by Thomas Leggs Jr, who was dating the 11 year old girls aunt. People are complaining that the sentences of these pedophiles are to short and were just sending them back on the streets to harm more children. I believe people should do some research on who lives in there neighborhood because Leggs was a registered sex offender. If people did some research maybe they could of noticed the man and stopped him before his act.

In Maryland, a cop found the body of an a 11-year-old girl, Sarah Haley Foxwell. The girl was taken on Tuesday night by a horrible heartless guy who’s registered as a sex offender in Maryland because of a 3rd degree sex offense conviction in 1998. The accused was Thomas James Leggs Jr who has also commited other crimes. In Delaware he has been consideres as a “high-risk” sex offender in connection with the rape of a minor in the year 2001. I think that laws should be very strict for those who commit crimes and do not forgive them for they have caused much harm to society.

This article was about an 11 year old girl who got kidnapped by a registered sex offender. The sex offender was the little girl’s aunt’s boyfriend that’s why she was taken from her bedroom. This shows that people need to be carful who they date that’s number one and number two make sure that your child doesn’t go out alone have your child supervised. There are many registered sex offenders and I think that the law/right should be very limited for them.

  6. January 14, 2010 at 8:42 pm

this article really makes you think twice before letting your child out into the world. being now they have websites or access to sources with sex offenders in the area of which you reside. they should really restrict the living of ex cons. just because they served there justice doesnt mean they learned there lesson.

This article is about an 11 year old from Maryland, Sarah Haley Foxwell who was kidnapped and murdered by a registered sex offender. This shows how it is very possible for a sex offender to keep doing what he did in the past and i think rules for these type of criminals should be even more strict. Once they committed a crime like this especially against and innocent little girl they should loose almost all their rights. There is no excuse for people like this and he should be punished to the full extent of the law.

This article is was about 11-year-old girl who was kidnapped by a registered sex offender. I think this is horrible. sometimes i feel there’s no way to actually prevent this. The guy who did this was a registered sex offender meaning people should beware of this so it can be prevented but it didn’t happen in this case. there is a web site that you can visit that provides you with information of offenders in the area and there’s not an area that is completely clear. With this being said theres no real safe neighborhood , all you have to do is protect yourself but sometimes thats not even enough.

This is an article about a little girl named Sarah Haley Foxwell that was abducted from her room by a man named Thomas James Leggs Jr. who was then dating her aunt. Sarah was found on Christmas. Eventhough Leggs was in custody there were no additional chargers being made. I think when it comes to sex offenders they shouldnt be able to get out of jail on parol because they’ll probably do it again. Sex offender laws should be more strict because by letting them go your giving them the oppertunity to do it again.

This article was about an 11 year old girl named Sarah Haley Foxwell, who was abducted from her bedroom by a sex offender. Authorities said that Sarah was taken from her bedroom on a Tuesday night by a registered sex offender, Thomas James Leggs Jr., who was taken in the very next day after the abduction. James used to go out with the Sarahs aunt, Who was the guardian of her and her to younger siblings. 3,000 of Sarahs neighbors joined her family in search of her body. I think that the the laws against sex offenders should hand out stricter punishments. They will contine to commite these crimes again and again until they are punished severly.

In Maryland on christmas day police found the body of an a 11-year-old girl. Sarah Haley Foxwell. The girl was taken from her bedroom by a sex offender. 3,000 of her Wicomico County neighbors got together to search fields and forest. The suspect Leggs is 30 years old and listed in the Maryland registry because of a third-degree sex offense in 1998. In Delaware he is listed as a high risk of rape in 2001. I really do think that they should have a strict punishment. If we don’t have these sick sex offenders under control situations like this will continue

This article is very sad and hard to belive how can their be any human being having thoughts of hurting small children or anyone at all is very sad how the young 11 year old girl was kidnapped and on christmas her dead body was found . The person who has been acussed has been held without bail at the wicomico countydetenrion center i think that he should be put very far from any children because this man have been accused before of commiting a assult he should been put away and the detectives shall get good evidence

The article was about a child being kidnapped and murdered, and found dead on Christmas by police and public of Wicomico County in Maryland. A suspect, Thomas James Leggs Jr., who has a record of sex offense cases in Maryland and Delaware. I believe that the suspect should have been known to the public of being a sex offender especially being one of the cases in the same state. Also I believe that wiretapping too much considering sex offenders would just become monitors to be watched by officials for the rest of their lives.

This article is about an 11 year old girl, which was found dead on Christmas day.Authorities said that the girl was kidnapped by a registered sex offender.Police said the girl had been taken from her bedroom Tuesday night by a registered sex offender, Thomas James Leggs Jr. Leggs briefly dated the girl’s aunt, who had custody of her and her two siblings.Leggs, 30, is listed in the Maryland registry because of a third-degree sex offense conviction in 1998.
And in Delaware, he is listed as a “high-risk” sex offender in connection with the rape of a minor in 2001.
I think that is is right that the police is investigating and keeping this men looked up.He should be let out until it is fully proven that he didnt do anything to the 11 year old girl. For now he shouldnt be able to have any rights.

It’s about a girl who was murdered by a registered sex offender. On Christmas Day a body of a 11 year old was found her name was Sarah Haley Foxwell. Police say she was taken from her room. The sex offender has been dating her aunt who has custody of her two other siblings. I think the laws against them should be rally enforced because even when they are free and not on parole they return to doing the same thing. But they also have to take into consideration that they are still human beings and they have rights, but the rights that they violated should be limited like going near a park or a school, or working in a place that involves children. To keep the children safe.

This article was about an 11 year old girl in Maryland who was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a registered sex offender, Thomas James Leggs Jr, who had dated her aunt before. Her body was found on Christmas. Police said the girl had been taken from her bedroom Tuesday night. I think are just straight up sick and derserve to be in jail for the rest of their life, the laws are strict but in my opinion they should be even way more srict!

The article is about a 11yr old girl that got kidnapped by Thomas James Leggs Jr. This man is registered sex offender. The police found her on Christmas. This man is held in Wicomico County Detention Center without bail. I think it is the right thing to do he should stay in there and pay for what he has done. This man has to be mentally ill unless hes just a perverted coldhearted animal >:o !!!!!

This article is about an 11 year old girl, who was kidnapped by Thomas James Leggs who is a registered sex offender. This guy took the girl from her bedroom Tuesday night. a lot of neighbors were looking for the girl in the forest. Leggs is in jail with out the right to a bail. This guy had chargers in another states.
I think that people that rape little kids or kill are the worst thing that could walk on this planet. there should all disappear, be burn alive, jail for ever, something but not walking on the streets like nothing happened.

People in the neighborhood help find the poor little girl in the forest. He is held without bail.Thomas James Leggs Jr. did the same crime in Delaware and did get time in jail or nothing so he could learn his lesson.I think they should be ruff on this guy because he going to do it again on till he punished.

The article is about an 11-year-old girl who was kidnapped & rapped by an already registered sex offender. In Maryland he was registered as a sex offender & in Delaware he was listed as a “high-risk” sex offender. People in Maryland say that that shows how different the laws are in different states. I believe that the laws should be the same in every state, when it comes down to pedophiles or sex offenders. If you let them get away with a slap on the wrist, them having kidnapped, sexually abused , & murdered someone, they’ll most likely do the same thing twice or even more times.

By her sex offender Thomas James Leggs Jr. Thomas James Leggs Jr. had contact with Sarah Haley Foxwell he was just looking for another victim. I think Thomas James Leggs Jr. should stay in jail for a long time because no one who does this should stay unpunshied.

This article is about Sarah Haley Foxwell an 11-year-old girl who was kidnapped by a registered sex offender, authorities said. They found the girl’s body without life on Christmas. According to the police, the girl was taken from her bedroom on Tuesday night by a registered sex offender Thomas James Leggs Jr. The sex offender is arrested without bail. Leggs is listed in the Maryland registry because of a third degree sex offense conviction in 1998. In Delaware he’s listed as a “high risk” sex offender for a rape on a minor in 2001. Mike D. Smigiel, has pre-filed three bills that would tighten child sex offense laws. People like sex offenders and killers shouldn’t be allowed to be walking in the streets like normal people. These people should be punished really strictly and stay in jail for a long time because they are a danger for us, especially for our children. I agree that sex offender laws must become stronger.

People like this shouldn’t be allowed to be part of our society. At least he is being held without bail at the Wicomico County Detention Center. Sarah’s body was found on christmas by the police and neighbors who help the family to search for her body on fields and forests as well they made a colaboration to pay the funeral and burial.

In Maryland an eleven year old by the name of Sarah Haley Foxwell was found on Christmas. The body was found without life. The little girl was taken from her bedroom Tuesday night. Thomas James Leggs Jr., who took the little girl dated the her aunt. Sarah’s death is considered murder by the police but no additional charges are being brought against Leggs. He is being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center. I think the Jessica Law should be enforced. This would punish a sex offender the way they deserve to be punished. I also like the fact that they have strict laws in Maryland but that more will be done to deal with these child predators.
